Camping Fun

Last night Daddy and Bo went camping at Victoria Bryant State Park. They were joined by Mr. Josh (aka Fishing Mr. Josh) and here’s what happened….

They setup camp…

After camp was setup they enjoyed a little snack…

Playing in the creek…

Trying their hand at skipping rocks…

Bo had lots of fun playing in the rocks at the tent site…

After dinner we had smores and more Yoohoo…

We had a pretty good nights sleep and were up early for breakfast…

Daddy the cook…

Yummy!

Bo gave the food two thumbs up :)

Now we’re home and we’re packing thing up again to take the boys to Day Out With Thomas in North Carolina…shhhh…don’t tell the boys, it’s a surprise :)
Special thanks to our photographer Mr. Josh.

Happy New Year 2009!

We spent new year’s eve at Mimi’s house. We ate way too many cheese straws (and other stuff) and drank lots of sparkling grape juice :) Daddy also put on a great fireworks show ($80 worth). Sorry no pictures of the fireworks as my camera doesn’t take good night-time shots.

Bo really enjoyed “toasting”

Christmas Pictures

Here are lots of pictures from our Christmas :)

Bo was super excited about his new Thomas train table.

Levi, showing us his new movie.

Daddy wearing his new leather fire helmet.

Mommy got some new SUPER comfortable Mammoth Crocs.

Bo – the official Gift-Passer-Outter

Levi still wasn’t sure what to think about all the commotion.

Working on his unwrapping skills.

“Not sure what you want me to do here Mom.”

“Oh!! I can eat it! Why didn’t you say that in the first place?!”

Unlike his little brother, Bo knew exactly what to do…and did!

Mommy also got a mommy bracelet with each of the boys names and birth dates.

Harvest Fun

As most of you know we don’t celebrate the typical “halloween” but we do have our own special family traditions this time of year. We pick and carve pumpkins and the kids dress up in their costumes, usually 3 or 4 different times to see all of our family. This year Bo was a monkey (complete with banana) and Levi was a “chubby bunny”. Here are some pictures.

Picking punkins:

Bo insisted on holding his pumpkin in his lap on the way home. That lasted all of 15 minutes before he started saying “It’s too heavy!” (one of his favorite sayings).

Day out with Thomas 2008

Today was the big day and boy did we have A LOT of fun!! We woke up with the chickens this morning, got some breakfast and headed out to our Day out with Thomas. Bo was super excited to finally get to ride Thomas. Here is Bo, dressed for the day.

As we were leaving our hotel (that was right by the tracks) we got to watch Thomas heading into town from the sheds!

Here are Bo and Daddy as we rode the shuttle from the parking area. Bo enjoyed his first ride on a school bus.

When we arrived we got in line to have Bo’s picture made with Thomas!

Here’s a good picture of Bo’s favorite useful engine…

OUR RIDE ON THOMAS!!
“All Aboard”

Riding and waving, waving and riding…

When we were done with our ride Bo got an official Jr. Engineer Certificate!

Other Fun Activities
In the “Imagination Station” we saw a whole Thomas built from legos…

They had several train tables setup so we could play. They are similar to the ones we have at home…

Bo got to build some lego trains…

There was a petting zoo with goats and sheep…

Bo and Daddy played in cool colored sand boxes…

There were fun water toys…

Bo even got a free balloon poodle that he immediately called Missy…

They had neat dump trucks and rocks to dig in…

We all got train tattoos!! Bo and Daddy got Thomas and Mommy got Percy.

They had a BIG slide. Bo had a little trouble getting to the top but he finally made it…

and stayed at the top, refusing to slide down so long that a nice staff member had to go up and slide down with him…

Bo and Daddy also got to meet Sir Topham Hat! In case you did know Sir Topham Hat is the railway controller on the Island of Sodor where Thomas lives.

Here we are waiting for the shuttle to take us back to our car.

We were all tired and hungry after our fun Day Out With Thomas. Bo is already asking to come back next year :)

P.S. If you want any of these pictures to print please just let me know – these are all small and will print very poorly ;)

Emerald Isle Trip 2008

We visited family this past weekend in Emerald Isle, NC for our cousin Tommy’s wedding. We arrived on Wednesday afternoon after a 4am departure. Bo traveled very well (thanks to the DVD player and his books). We got to stay in a house right on the beach and it was very nice. On Thursday we went to the North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores. Bo loved seeing the turtles and Daddy bought him a small stuffed one that he named Lance and added it to his collection of animals that he has to sleep with every nap and night. For more insight on the name “Lance” and why Bo likes it see the end of this post :)

Saturday morning we made our final trip down to the ocean for a little play time. Bo had a blast playing in the sand and water. Daddy got creative and built an alligator and a turtle in the sand. Mommy enjoyed picking up pretty seashells.

Saturday evening was the main event (the wedding). It was a lovely, simple ceremony on the beach. The reception afterward was a lot of fun also!

After the wedding we packed up to come home and hit the road around 7am on Sunday. The trip was a lot of fun, but it felt good to get home even if we came home to 100 degree weather :(
Here’s the scoop on “Lance” the turtle. Bo, as you know, loves VeggieTales and one of the newer videos is Gideon Tuba Warrior. Well the silly song is “Ukulele Karaoke with Bob” and Bo loves the song. Be sure to turn up the volume and listen to the chorus ;) Here’s the video:
