Harvest Fun

As most of you know we don’t celebrate the typical “halloween” but we do have our own special family traditions this time of year. We pick and carve pumpkins and the kids dress up in their costumes, usually 3 or 4 different times to see all of our family. This year Bo was a monkey (complete with banana) and Levi was a “chubby bunny”. Here are some pictures.

Picking punkins:

Bo insisted on holding his pumpkin in his lap on the way home. That lasted all of 15 minutes before he started saying “It’s too heavy!” (one of his favorite sayings).

University of Georgia Fans

Our whole family loves the Georgia Bulldogs, but Bo seems to have the most fun dressing out for the games. We usually listen to the games on the radio since they are usually on ESPN and we don’t have satellite or cable, just local channels.  Here are some pictures of our “Bulldog” family :)

County Fair 2008

Our family attended our local county fair and we had a lot of fun! I’ve dated the post for the day we went since I’m so behind in blogging :)

Here’s our family. Levi is in the stroller of course ;)

Bo’s favorite attraction at the fair was the John Deere tractors. He had to sit or climb on all of them.

He even figured out how to turn this one on! No they didn’t leave the key in it, but apparently the lights and such will come on without a key. Go figure that my 2 1/2 year old can figure it out!

Bo had a ball just pretending to drive it. I’m sure if he could have he would have taken it for a test drive.

Bo’s favorite ride at the fair was the train (duh!). He rode it three times.

Funny story about the little girl riding with him. The first ride they both rode in the engine and she made sure he was buckled in. The next ride they both went for the caboose and she sat next to him. Half way through the ride she kissed him. When we got in the car to go home (at least an hour later) Bo said “Daddy, that girl kissed me!” He wasn’t excited or upset, just in awe. It was cute, but of course I’m NOT ready for my little boy to be talking about and/or actually being kissed!

“Can we get this ride going, please?”

“Hey Mommy! Hey Daddy! Hey Levi!”

Here’s me and Levi. He started to get tired of the stroller, but overall he did very well.

Bo also enjoyed the whale ride.

And he was even brave enough to get on the dragon roller coaster! He liked it at first but after about the 3rd time around he was saying “All done, Daddy! All done!”

Update on Chip & Sara

Other than being slightly sleep-deprived Mommy and Daddy are doing well. Chip has officially gone back to his full time work schedule. I’m planning to get back to my web design business next week. Chip is a VERY big help when I need some extra sleep or have had a rough night. Bo of course is loving all the fun outings with Daddy so we kill two birds with one stone ;)

Well our update is much shorter than the boys but that’s okay :D We’ll post more later.

Update on Bo

It seems like overnight Bo has grown into such a big boy! We have some VERY exciting news to share!  Bo is fully potty trained and wearing big-boy underwear even at night (since Tuesday) with only one accident so far. He goes potty all by himself now also. How’d he do it? Well it was a combination of temporary tattoos and a reward potty chart (one sticker for every #2 on the potty) that once full he got to go any buy a special Thomas train to add to his collection. Yep, he was covered in tattoos for a while, but it was well worth it!

Bo is a very good big brother. He loves to kiss and hold Levi (with help of course). He also enjoys helping Mommy and Daddy keep the house clean and doing small chores like throwing away diapers and picking up after himself.

Bo also got a new hair cut recently. Much to Mimi’s dismay we shaved his head. It looks very cute and makes him look a lot older. Mommy didn’t want to at first but when Bo asked “Mommy, can I get haircut like Daddy’s?” how could I refuse?!

Here are some pictures of Bo, Levi & Daddy watching videos on the computer.

Update on Levi

Levi had his one month doctor’s appointment on the 16th and he was deemed perfectly healthy :) He weighed 12 lbs, 8 oz and was 22 inches long. I’m sure he’s grown even more since then. He has already outgrown newborn size clothes and some 0-3 month outfits as well. In other news since his belly button finally healed Levi got his first official bath on Friday. He doesn’t seem to care for water very much but he did very well overall. Here are some pictures:

Here’s a picture of Levi and Daddy in one of the Shiloh fire trucks.

Levi spends most of his time asleep (of course) and his favorite place to sleep is the swing. He does fairly well at night, waking every 2-3 hours to eat, then he usually goes right back to sleep. Sometimes if he’s had a particularity restful day he will want to stay up till 12 or 1am or even later, but thankfully those days are few and far between.

Swimming Fun - July 21

Here are some great pictures of our family swimming back on July 21. Our neighbor “Mr. Josh” (as Bo calls him) took these for us.

First Doctor Visit for Levi

Levi’s first doctor visit was this morning and he is doing very well. The doctor was very shocked that he has gained a whole pound since being released from the hospital on Sunday - so shocked they re-weighed him twice to make sure! On Sunday he weighed 7 lbs 6 oz and today he is 8 lbs 6 oz. Needless to say breastfeeding and Levi agree ;) He is also jaundice-free and in great health. We don’t have to visit the doctor again until he is a month old.

Big Brother/Little Brother

Big Brother Bo and Little Brother Levi meet and become fast friends. On the first day Bo didn’t care much for the squirmy little Levi but we previously arranged for the boy’s to exchange gifts. Bo gave Levi a stuffed doggy and Levi gave Bo a train for his Thomas train table (James seen in pictures below). The train gift quickly won over his big brother and the next day when they visited Bo asked to hold Levi.

On Sunday as we were getting ready to leave a nurse told us about a fun thing called “Hand Hugs”. Bo wanted to lay with Levi and give him hand hugs. Levi turned it into hand kisses which Bo loved!

Here’s a funny picture of Bo playing in the nightstand while we waited to be discharged from the hospital.
